Trump is a protectionist, and thinks the US is the greatest country in the world, a definition of patriotism. He is not the leader of the free world but rather a comic character.
Oh well. Emmanuel Macron is much more of a natural leader. He knows what he wants, and goes after it. He is usually right also, but that is sort of irrelevant.
